Robert "Bob" Larry Hovey Jr.

Robert “Bob” Larry Hovey Jr., 85, of Gilmanton, WI died Friday, August 25, 2023 at his home. He was born January 3, 1938 in rural Mondovi; son of Robert and Allie (Klevgard) Hovey.

He graduated from Gilmanton High School. Following high school Bob served in the United States Army.

On August 20, 1960 he married Betty Ann Kent. They had two children together, Michael and Michelle. They later divorced. He then married Carolyn Stern.

Bob worked for the Department of Agriculture as a commodities buyer for many years. He also helped on the family farm.

He enjoyed playing the guitar, watching sports and horse pulling. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Bob is survived by his children, Michael (Carolyn) and Michelle; two grandchildren, Aaron and Alyssa; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Allie Hovey; wife, Carolyn; sisters, Lenore Larson, Ruth Peterson, Mary Ann Starks; brothers, Dennison, Delaine, Amos and Vilas.

Memorial services will be Thursday, August 31, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi, WI. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial with Military

Honors will be at the Good Shepherd Cemetery in rural Mondovi.The family would like to give a special thanks to Debbie, Tasha, Ray, Margorie, and all others who helped with Bob's care.
