Robert Tollefson, age 81, passed away on August 25th, 2023. He was born in Eleva, WI on November 24th, 1941, the son of Oliver and Clara (Johnson) Tollefson. He was the youngest of 5 children. He married Paulette Fitch on November 13, 1965. They spent 56 years together. Robert proudly served in the Army from March 1961-March of 1964 and was a member of the American Legion Post 459 for many years. Robert worked for Armours right out of the service for several years until their closure. In 2006, he retired from Cascades.
Robert was a life-long resident of Eleva, and enjoyed his small town. He was a member of the Eleva Lutheran Church. Robert lived life to the fullest and was a favorite of many. We never met anyone that didn’t like our dad. He was known to make people smile just with his presence. He would talk to anyone and if he wasn’t talking to them, they would find him. He was known for the messages on his t-shirts that brought humor to all conversations. Robert loved watching and talking to small children and seeing how carefree they were about life. He was a Packer fan and avid Brewers fan, rarely missing a game. Robert enjoyed coaching little league in his younger years and watching all activities his children and grandchildren participated in including: sports, concerts and just hearing their stories. Through these opportunities, events, and stories, he has made several friends and good memories he shared often.
Robert will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his 2 sons, Robert (Otay) Tollefson, Eleva; WI and Tony Tollefson, Eleva; 2 daughters, Pam (Steve) Jenson of Janesville, WI; and Sara Tollefson (Shane) of Eleva, WI; 6 grandchildren: Trenton, Chayton, Caden, Avry, Mila and Kyson; many in-laws, nieces and nephews who were very special to him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Tollefson, his parents, and 2 brothers, Palmer Tollefson and Clayton Tollefson.
Also a special thank you to Mayo Clinic Hospice Care and Grace Lutheran Prairie Pointe staff and volunteers for their love and care to our dad.
