Philip Neil Everson

Philip Neil "Phil" Everson, age 74, of Eleva, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 24, 2018. He was born on November 19, 1944 in Eau Claire to Arnold and Eleanor (Simonson) Everson. He grew up on his family's farm and graduated from Mondovi High School. Phil later served his country in the Army. When he returned, he ran his own dairy farm in rural Eleva for many years. He loved to be his own boss and took pride in caring for his animals and being a steward of the land. Phil loved to garden, do research, ride motorcycles, go hunting, play cards, and spend time with his family. He also enjoyed going to his grandchildren's sporting events. He got along with everyone he met. His family will always remember him as a stubborn, honest, hardworking, and caring man.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne of Eleva; eleven children, Lorraine (Eric) of Williston, ND, Paula (Scott) Richter of Milwaukee, Cal (Shari) Everson of Strum, Karla (Ron) Haas of Foster, Sheila (Gary) of Arcadia, Jim Hazelton of Eau Claire, Steph (Dale) Karlstad of Osseo, Shane Hazelton of Strum, Stacie (Aaron) Felton of Eau Claire, Shannon (Chris) Russell of Cambridge, and Joel (Misty) Hazelton of Valparaiso, IN; 25 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Dave (Lonnie) Everson of Eleva; sister, Eldora Odegard of Mondovi; step-sister, Sharon Koesterman of Chippewa Falls; step-brother, Donald Peterson of Eau Claire; two brothers-in-law, Vernon Mercer of Eleva and Merle Urness of Mondovi; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Curt Everson; two sisters, Karen Mercer and Shirley Urness; and brother-in-law, Ron Odegard.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home, Mondovi (465 W Main St, Mondovi, WI 54755).
