Marian Grossell Obituary
Marian Lorraine (VonRuden) Grossell, age 81, of Mondovi, WI passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Sacred heart Hospital with her children by her side. Marian was born on April 18, 1934 in Winona, MN to Herbert and Charlotte (Schaffer) VonRuden. She was baptized, confirmed and completed the 9th grade at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Winona. She attended and graduated Winona High School in 1951.
Marian married Robert Braatz Sr. in Winona, together they had 3 children, they later divorced. She married Delbert Grossell in 1968 and became Step mother to 3 girls.
Marian and Delbert then had one son Scott. They moved to Mondovi in 1968 where she attended Zion Lutheran Church and was Secretary for 11 and half years. For the past 25 years she was Secretary for Heike Reality and retired in 2014.
Marian could be the life of the party, she loved to dance and go bowling but most importantly she loved spending time with family and friends. She bowled with George Jones, partied with Patsy Cline and lived a very full life. Marian had a very strong faith with the Lord Jesus.
She is survived by her children; Robert (Lori) Grossell, Randy Braatz, Terri (Mike) Owens and Scott Grossell. Stepdaughters; Laurie (Randy) Mann, Cindy (Dale) Ableidinger and Debbie Delong. 12, Grandchildren, 21, Great Grandchildren and 2, grand cats.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Delbert, her first husband Robert Braatz, one brother, Henry VonRuden, one sister, Audrey Stutzka.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mondovi at 11:00am with a one hour visit at 10:00am till time of services at the church; Pastor Paul Woebbiking will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested to give to the local food pantry to help others in need.
