Geraldine Paulsen Obituary

Geraldine E. Paulsen, of Mondovi, WI passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.\nShe was born on January 8, 1940 in Cashton, WI to Oscar and Rudella (Dauve) Nordstrom. In 1958 she graduated from Cashton High School. She then attended UW La Crosse and graduated with a BA in education in 1963. For ten years she taught second grade in the Eleva-Strum School District. In 1977 she married Dennis Paulsen in Lodi, WI. They later divorced. After her marriage, she farmed in the Osseo area with her husband. Geri moved to the Mondovi area five years ago.\nShe was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Norden and was their WELCA secretary.\nGeri enjoyed her grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events and babysitting them. She was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting antiques. One of her favorite rememberances is of her trip to Ireland in 2004 with her five sisters.\nShe is survived by a daughter in law, Debbie (Clyde) Gumbert of Mondovi; two step children, Chris (Ginny) Paulsen and Lisa Reynolds; three grandchildren, Brooklyn (Travis) Emerson, Amber Tomlinson and Cody Tomlinson; four step grandchildren, John, Zach, Tiffany and Sarah; one great granddaughter, Kaylee Emerson; five sisters, Joan (Donald) Doll of Stoddard, WI, Donna (Taylor) Melby of Tomah, WI, Anne (Allen) Gajewsky of Owen, WI, Carol (Ernest) Meyer of Lodi, WI and Mary (Chuck) Jefson of Lodi, WI; a brother, Jon (Kathryn) Nordstrom of Wyoming, MN; a sister in law, Donna (Ed) Thomas of Niceville, FL; nieces, nephews and other relatives.\nShe was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Tomlinson, one brother, David Nordstrom and her parents.
