Freda Regina (Prissel) Werlein

Freda Regina Werlein, 100, of Mondovi, WI passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Hillview Senior Living in Mondovi. She was born January 16, 1923 in Lima Township, WI; daughter of Charles and Theresa (Vogler) Prissel. She attended school in Lima.

On June 24, 1946 she married Frank Werlein in Lima.

Freda worked at the Eleva chicken plant, then cooked with her sister, Gertie at Sacred Heart School in Mondovi for over twenty years. Freda also worked on the family farm. She spent time picking cucumbers and strawberries.

She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, traveling out West, and playing cards.

She is survived by her son, Glenn (Fay) Werlein; daughter-in-law, Mary Werlein; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Erma Sam; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, Dennis; daughter, Roseanna; parents, Charles and Theresa (Vogler) Prissel and twelve siblings.

A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 am on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mondovi, WI. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mondovi.
