Edith R. Gunderson

Edith R. (Edie) Gunderson, age 72 of Eleva, formerly of Whitehall, WI; Passed away Thursday May 23, 2013 at the Strum Area Health & Rehabilitation Center with her family at her side. Edie was born October 28, 1940 in Martell Township Pierce County WI. To Randolph and Irene (Norderhaug) Peterson. Edie graduated from Ellsworth High School, Ellsworth, WI. She married Alfred Gunderson in June of 1991 at Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasantville, WI. Edie was employed by Ashley Furniture for many years where she had many friends. Edie was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and actively involved in the Ladies Circle. Edie enjoyed gardening, knitting, swimming, the Red Hats Club, and was a member of the Tri-county Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Edie's favorite holiday was Halloween and she enjoyed collecting frog figurines. Edie also enjoyed spending special time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She attended many special events for them. Edie also volunteered for many events. She is survived by her husband Alfred Gunderson of Eleva, her Son Dean Wilcziek (Special Friend Nancy Urness) of Eleva, WI. Two Step sons, Scott (Kim) Gunderson of Mauston, WI ; Todd Gunderson of Chippewa Falls, WI; And Step Daughter Wendy (Rick) Olson of Eureka, Ill. Eight Grandchildren; Four Brothers, Ron (Kathy) Peterson of Hastings, MN; Allan Peterson of River Falls, WI; Paul Peterson of St. Paul, MN; Tim (Donna) Peterson of Hammond, WI; Five Sisters, Mary (Tom) Hines of Ellsworth, WI; Joan (Gordon) Sando of Henderson, NV; Betty (Ernest) Zappa of Clear Lake, WI; Roberta (Steve) Sylla of River Falls, WI; Jane (Larry) Evin of Baldwin, WI; Nieces, Nephews, many relatives and her special friends Gary and Sharon Hazen of Eleva. Edie is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Sandy Peterson and one brother David Peterson. Memorial Services are planned for Tuesday May 28, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church Pleasantville, WI. Burial will be later in Ellsworth, WI. Visitation will be from 11:00 - 1:00 pm at the Church on Tuesday.
