Dorothy Arlene (Rongstad) Anderson

Dorothy Arlene Anderson, 94, of Eleva, WI, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Osseo, WI, with her family by her side. She was born July 13, 1929 in York, WI   ; daughter of Johnny and Cora (Larson) Rongstad.

In 1947 she graduated from Lincoln Hill High School in Osseo, WI. On May 29, 1949, Dorothy married Keith E. Anderson at the Osseo Lutheran Church. They lived all their lives in Eleva.

Dorothy worked in food service for the University of WI- Eau Claire for many years.

She enjoyed knitting and baking. She was known for her Norwegian baking and taught a class at the Technical College in Eau Claire for many years. She was a member of Eleva Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide, Sunday School Superintendant, Eleva Civic Club and a member of her Bridge club for over 50 years.

She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Cindy (Mark) Nymo of Rice Lake, WI, Linda (Dennis) Barneson of Strum, WI, Paul (Kathy) Anderson of Hudson, WI; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer (Chris) Larrabee, Todd (Julie) Barneson, Sara (Jeremy) Scheu, Kari (Jake) Donze, Brad (Kelsey)Barneson, Jon (Sarah) Nymo, Melissa (Andy) Chapman, Andrew (Jenique) Nymo, Brianna (Adam) Zwiefelhofer, Emily (Jeff) Higgins and Megan  (Justin) Ziegler; 33 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (JoAnn) Rongstad, Arnie (Jane) Rongstad; sisters-in-law, Bernie Rongstad, LaVonne Nelson, Marilyn Anderson and several nieces and  nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Cora (Larson) Rongstad; husband, Keith Anderson; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Clinton Eide; brothers, Chuck and Orrin Rongstad and sister, Laila Pederson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Eleva Lutheran Church with Pastor Karen Ressel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Burial will be in the Eleva Cemetery.
