Diana Gay Alitz of Strum passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI with her family by her side. She was born March 4, 1941, in Eau Claire, WI to John and Francis (Modl) Heiman.
She graduated from Memorial High School in 1960. On June 18, 1960 she married the love of her life Robert Alitz, at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.
Diana was a stay-at-home Mom while her children were in school. Then worked at the Beverage Mart/Cenex in Strum for 35 years.
She enjoyed fishing, flower gardening, knitting, sewing, quilting, crafting and cooking for family gatherings. Listening to and feeding the birds were also favorite pastimes along with puzzling. She also enjoyed making Layettes, Health Kits and quilting with the women at Eleva Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of Strum; son, Robert “Bobby” (Dana) of Whitehall; daughter, Lorrie (Clyde) Linberg of West Salem; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet Huus, Sharon (Bernard) Gavre; sister-in-law, Martha Heiman; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Francis Heiman; four brothers, Jackie, Jerry, Bobby and Steven; one sister, Nancy Johnson.
Private services will be held at a later date.
