Charlotte Priefert, 86, a longtime resident of Mondovi, Wisconsin, died Sunday, November 16, 2008, at American Lutheran Home in Mondovi.\nCharlotte was born on June 4, 1922, in Modena, the daughter of Otis Nicholas and Alma Kistina (Larson) Adams. She was educated in the Sisson grade school and later received her GED at age 52. In 1942 she moved to Minneapolis and worked in the war effort at the Twin Cities ordinance plant. At the end of World War II she returned to Alma, where she married Ray William Priefert on December 8, 1945. The couple farmed in the Gilmanton area until 1967, when they moved to Mondovi.\nCharlotte was employed by Central Lutheran Church and the Mondovi school systems, and she was an aide in American Lutheran Home until age 82, when she moved there as a resident.\nA member of Central Lutheran Church, Charlotte was active in ladies' circle. She loved her church, family, and her Norwegian heritage, especially lutefisk.\nShe is survived by her daughters Janet Clark (husband John) of Augusta, Maria Figueroa (friend Henry Dubin) of Arlington, Virginia, and Laurel Fleming (husband Mark) of Naperville, Illinois; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.\nPreceding her in death were her husband; her parents; two brothers, Eldon Adams and Robert Adams; her sister June Rieck; and her friend Arnold (Ed) Marten.\nA visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at Central Lutheran Church, Mondovi, Wisconsin. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Rolf Morck officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Lutheran Cemetery, Mondovi.
