Catherine (Doyle) Palmer

Catherine Doyle Palmer, 62, of Eleva, WI died Saturday, January 7, 2023 at her home. She was born October 4, 1960 in Wake County, North Carolina; daughter of Melvin and Ann (Ballew) Doyle.

After graduation from high school, Catherine attended Peace College in North Carolina.

Catherine married Stephen Palmer  August 31 ,1995 .The service took place  on an alfalfa   covered  hilltop off county road I , just inside Eau Claire county .

Catherine was a dedicated and hard worker. The family owned Tax office provided experience and skills she used in various office settings .Catherine chose a new career path and   was training to be a dental assistant before her health required her to retire.

Catherine had a strong kinship with elderly people and children, especially those in need. For a time she was able to express that love by pioneering a therapy dog program at Sacred heart Hospital.

Catherine’s love for animals was well known and unabashedly expressed. Her home is still filled with animals rescued from streets and the shelter.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen; father and step-mother, Bob and Gina Doyle; brother, Mike Doyle; sister, Debra Hodge; ½ brother, Brett Doyle; ½ sister, Leslie Perry; mother-in-law, Diana Palmer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Catherine and Terry Scott; brother- in-law, Michael Palmer; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ann; father-in-law, Dr. Richard Palmer; brother-in-law, Craig Hodge.

A Memorial service will be held 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Eleva, WI with Pastor Karen Ressel officiating. Visitation will be from noon until time of services at the funeral home.
