Catherine E. Bergh, 99, of Eau Claire, died Monday, October 27, 2008 at the Syverson Lutheran Home in Eau Claire,WI.\n\nShe was born on March 8, 1909 in the town of Rock Creek, Dunn County to Edward and Elizabeth (Carpenter) Hoover.\n\nCatherine worked at the Farmers Store in Eau Claire in the Meat Department for 18 years. After her retirement she helped with the hot lunch program at Anthony School for about six years.\n\nShe was married to Gerhard Bergh on November 22, 1932 at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\n\nShe was a member of Drammen Lutheran Church, its ladies aide, the Church Quilter since 1960 and Drammen Homemakers Club.\n\nCatherine was a loving mother and grandmother, loved cooking, baking and sharing her homemade sourcream raisin pie that was better than anyones before or since.\n\nShe is survived by one son, Gary (Lorraine) Bergh of Eau Claire, WI.; three grandchildren, William (Robin) Bergh of Carlsbad, CA, Rhonda (Malcom) Ashley of Phoenix, AZ., Mark (Julie) Bergh of Henderson, NV; ten great grandchildren Nathan, Joshua, Brent and Tyler Bergh; Ryan Erickson and Ronnie Pichler Jr. and Blake, Ally, Alec and Colin Bergh; three great great grandsons,Jarrod Berg, Riley and Aryan Erickson; one brother-in-law, Frank Hendricks of Portland OR.,nieces, nephews and other relatives.\n\nPreceded in death by her husband; Gerhard, parents and five sisters; Edna Strehlow, Mabel Deardorff, Jenny Hendricks, Lena McIntosh and Margaret Hoover.\n\n\n\nFamily would like memorials to Drammen Lutheran Church Parsonage debt reduction fund.
