Betty Olson Obituary

Betty N. Olson, 79, of Strum, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.\nShe was born on June 3, 1929 in the town of Pleasant Valley, Eau Claire County to Abraham and Anna Behlke Barneson. She married Selmer Olson on October 30, 1951 in Eleva. They farmed in the Strum area for many years.\nBetty was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and it's ladies organizations. She was also a member of the church choir for 40 years.\nBetty especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and took pride in her large garden of which many people received the precious fruits of her labor. She also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Bucks. But, her passion was watching the Milwaukee Brewers baseball games.\nShe is survived by two children, Christine (William) Smith of Strum and Robert (Lori) Olson of Strum; five grandchildren, Theresa (Bryan) Anderson, Travis Smith, Ryan Olson, Kyle Olson and Kelton Olson; five great grandchildren, Nora, Kristen and Evan Smith and Isaac and Lily Anderson; one granddaughter in law, Sandra Smith; one sister in law, Gwendolyn Barneson of Eleva; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.\nBetty was preceded in death by her husband Selmer in 2004; one son, Randy; her parents; six brothers, Fred (Helen) Barneson, Albert (Edna) Barneson, Clarence (Bertha) Barneson, Edwin Barneson, Erwin Barneson and Richard Barneson; and two sisters, Lilly Barneson and Anna Roinestad.
