Arthur Quarberg Obituary

Arthur J. Quarberg, 85, of Modena, WI passed away on Monday September 23, 2013 at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. Art was born on December 15, 1927 in Modena, WI to Joseph and Jessie (Hanson) Quarberg . Arthur was a graduate of Mondovi High School in 1945. Art farmed in the Modena area most of his life. In 1951 he married Louise Kilian in Ridgeway N.C. She passed away in December of 2007. Art married Mary Jane Beaumont on December 5, 2009 in St. Cloud, Florida. Art was active in the Modena Lutheran Church where he was baptized, confirmed and held several offices. He served as the Town Chairman, was active with the Buffalo County Farm Bureau holding several offices over the years. He enjoyed square dancing, boating, and playing 500. He loved to travel the world; Germany and Norway were two of his favorite places. He also loved spending time with his family. Art is survived by wife Mary Jane of Modena, WI; Children, Carol Belongia of San Antonio, TX, Paul (Mary) Quarberg of Mondovi, WI, James Quarberg of Moran, WY, Susan (Tom) Swanson of Blaine, MN; Eight Grandchildren, Kimberly ( Philip) Caldwell, Brian (Rebecca) Belongia, Rachel (Ben) Cunningham, Melissa ( Aaron) Schneider, Leah ( Josh) Miller, Ryan and Taylor Quarberg, Sarah Swanson; Four Great Grandchildren, Ethan, Aiden, Hailey, Aubrey; Sister Junice Bender of Ashburn, VA, several nieces and nephews. Art is preceded in death by his first wife Louise, parents, two brothers Hilmar and Martin Quarberg. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 28, 2013 at 11:00am at the Modena Lutheran Church in Modena, with Rev. Natalie Leske officiating. Burial will follow in the Modena Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday September 27, 2013 from 4-7pm at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi and for one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.
