Yvonne Herpst Obituary
Yvonne Marie Herpst (83) of Mondovi, WI passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. She was born April 7, 1932 in Wabasha County, MN; daughter of William & Mildred (Meixner) Brunner.
She graduated from Elmwood High School. She was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing. Her RN career took her to various hospitals including Eau Claire, Madison, Albuquerque, Hudson, and Mondovi. She was also the Mondovi school nurse for 10 years.
On February 9, 1957 she married John Herpst at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Arkansaw, WI. Yvonne was a member of several boards, including the Buffalo Memorial Hospital, Mondovi Day Care Center and the Mondovi Area Thrift Store.
She and John took full advantage of retirement, spending winters in Florida, Hawaii or Arizona, traveling in the US and to foreign countries, visiting and making friends everywhere they went. She enjoyed playing bridge, crossword puzzles, entertaining with family and friends and of course, pie.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, John of Mondovi, WI; daughters Nan (Ken) Hall of Minneapolis, MN and Meg (Mike) Schimek of Byron, MN; grandchildren, Madisen and Tristan Schimek; sisters-in-law, Elaine Brunner, Jeannette Elbina and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mildred (Meixner) Brunner; brothers Douglas and Roger Brunner, and sister, Natalie Endl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday, November 9, 2015 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Mondovi with Father Paul Bosco officiating. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mondovi. Friends may call from 4:00- 7:00 pm on Sunday, November 8, 2015 with a 7:00 pm Scripture Wake at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi.
