Victoria Traun-Werner Obituary

Victoria Ann "Vicky" Traun-Werner, age 44, of rural Mondovi, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at her home. She was born on December 26, 1973 in Wabasha, MN to Jerome and Rose (Reinhardt) Traun. She grew up on her family's farm in Urne. Vicky graduated from Durand High School in 1992. She later went on to attend the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and received her bachelor's and master's degrees in early childhood development. She received her second master's degree from California State University - Northridge in speech language pathology. She graduated both times with honors. Vicky worked in education for most of her career, including at schools in four different states. Most recently, she was a speech language pathologist with the Osseo school district. She was a born educator and took pride in the fact that she could make a difference in children's lives. She married Matt Werner on June 29, 1997 in Durand. Later, they welcomed a daughter, Nora. Vicky loved to travel; some of her favorite trips were to Macchu Picchu, Ushuaia, Nairobi, Venice, and Rio de Janiero. She also enjoyed quilting and spending time with family and friends. Her passion, humor, patience, and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

Vicky is survived by her husband, Matt Werner of Mondovi; daughter, Nora Werner of Mondovi; parents, Jerry and Rose Traun of Urne; sister, Barb (Jeff) Klinnert of Wabasha, MN; grandmother, Patricia Reinhardt of Urne; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Rose Marie Traun and Theodore Reinhardt, Jr.

A celebration of Vicky's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home, Mondovi with Pastor Matthew Strickler officiating.
