Marvin E. Koser
Age 82 of Eleva sadly passed away on Thursday October 24, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. He was born October 20, 1931 in Almena, WI; son of Albert and Gertrude (Nickel) Koser. He was Baptized on October 23, 1931 and confirmed on August 4, 1946 at Grace Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, WI.
Marvin attended Almena and Green Creek country schools and graduated from Clear Lake High School, class of 1949. He attended advanced training at Ohio State University and Fort Worth Texas. Following high school he worked as a poultry and dairy farmer in the Clear Lake area.
Marvin enlisted with the United States Army in 1956-1959. Following his service he worked as an inspector for the USDA, where he received several certificates of merit, he retired in 1990 from the Federal Government. From 1991-2001 he worked as an Inspector for the State of WI.
He married Marlene Frohreich in 1958 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest Township, Barron County WI. They were blessed with one Daughter Kathlene Margaret (Koser) Nelson.
He was a member of the Eleva Fire Department for thirteen years. Marvin enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader and managing Little League; he was a pitcher and played with the Eleva softball team. He was a very good bowler; he bowled many years in Mondovi and at Wagner's in Eau Claire. He was a lifetime member of the Eleva American Legion Post 459, a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge he was also a member of the Scottish Rite.
He was a member of the Eleva Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife Marlene; Daughter, Kathlene (Bruce) Nelson; Brother and Sister-in-law, Ortwin and Lorraine Koser; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother LeRoy, a sister-in-law Virginia Koser, brother-in-law Carlton Frohreich.
Funeral Services are set for Monday, October 28th, 2013, at 11:00am at the Eleva Lutheran Church, Eleva, WI. with Rev. Kermit Solem officiating. Burial will follow at the Eleva Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Eleva American Legion Post 459. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00.
