JoAnne Wenaas Obituary

JoAnne Claire Wenaas, 85, of Eleva, WI, was called home Friday, April 29, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire WI. She was born April 8, 1931 in Eleva WI, daughter of the late Alvin and Doris (Gunderson) Semingson. She graduated from Eleva High School in 1949; in that same year on September 10th she married Victor at Norden Lutheran Church. In the early years she worked with her husband Vic at the Wenaas Mobil Service Station in Eleva as a bookkeeper. Later she worked as a nurses aid at the Strum Nursing Home, and then at the Ad Delite in Strum. After 12 years as the clerk of the Village of Eleva, she retired in 1993. JoAnne was a member of the Eleva Lutheran Church, She loved spending time with her family, traveling, playing cards, camping and boating up north. JoAnne is survived by her husband of 66 years Victor, her 5 children: Mike (Linda) Wenaas of Eleva, WI., Gayle (Charles) Anderson of Eau Claire, WI., Paul (Teresa) Wenaas of Chippewa Falls, WI.,Annette (Jon) Rongstad of Mondovi, WI. and Susan Herman of Whitehall, WI ; 11 Grandchildren Jodi Wenaas-Barnes, Staci (Brian) Kothbauer, Carrie (Chris) Marzolf, Mark Gamroth, Carly (Lon) Allen, Todd Anderson, Matthew Wenaas, Kathryn Wenaas, and Skyler, Shandler, and Presley Herman .9 Great Grandchildren: Gavin, Eylsa, Qwynn, Dawson, Everette, Gradyn, Emma, Sophie and Lonnie. 4 brothers and sisters: Duaine ( Mary) Semingson, Sherrill (Ernest) Dahl, Sandra VanPelt, and Sidney (Lois) Semingson, and many nieces and nephews. She he is preceded in death by her parents, great grandchild Zayvier Barnes and a brother-in- law Daniel VanPelt. A Visitation will be held Monday, May 2, 2016 from 4-7 PM at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Eleva WI. The funeral will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Eleva Lutheran Church in Eleva, WI, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
