Harvey Clarence Barneson

Harvey Clarence Barneson, age 77, of Eleva, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born on the family farm on April 11, 1940 in Pleasant Valley. He lived his entire life on the farm. Harvey was a good steward of the land, taking great care of the soil, the trees, and especially of his family. He was a member of Eleva Lutheran Church and served on the church council. After many years of dairy farming, he grew and delivered his crops. He enjoyed visiting with people and loved being with his grandchildren.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 51 years, Arlene; daughter, Shelley (Perry) Kufahl; two sons, Stephen (Susie) and Shawn (Christine Miller) Barneson; four grandchildren, Abigail Kufahl, and Anthony, Zachary, and Evelyn Barneson; brother-in-law, Eugene Fischer; nephews, Scott Olsen and Brian (Sara) Fischer and their children, Kevin, Kristen and Leah and niece, Christine Olsen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Bertha Barneson; one infant grandson, Robert Stephen Barneson; sisters-in-law, Sharon and Sally Fischer.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Eleva Lutheran Church in Eleva , WI with Pastor Bob Castro officiating. Burial will be in the Eleva Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Eleva and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
