George Erickson Obituary
George Edward Erickson Jr., 93, of the town of Pleasant Valley, Eau Claire County, WI. Passed away on Wednesday June 5, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. He was born January 5, 1920 in Eau Claire County, WI. To George and Anna (Morud) Erickson. He married the love of his life, Helen (Goss) Erickson April 17, 1943 at the Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church.
George was a Dairy Farmer his whole life until an accident forced him into retirement at the age of 82. He was a life member of the Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church where he served member on the church council. He also served on the board of Cleghorn Schools.
George was a member, dairy project leader and organizer of the local 4-H Club. He was an avid book reader and loved history. George and Helen were always willing to help when people were in need.
George is survived by his wife Helen Erickson; children, James Erickson of Black River Falls; Mary ( Ben) Froehlich of Eleva, WI; Gary ( Amy) Erickson of Eau Claire, WI.; David ( Teri) Erickson of Sun City Arizona; Ronald ( Theresa) Erickson of Eau Claire, WI.; daughter-in-law Roberta Erickson of Augusta WI.
19 grandchildren, 29 great grand children, 1 great great grandchild; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Anna Erickson; son Gregory Erickson; daughters-in-law Barbara and Audrey Erickson; brothers, Jesse Erickson; Clarence Erickson and Joseph Erickson. Sisters, Mildred Erickson; Alice Erickson and Esther Smith.
The Family has requested memorials to Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church.
