Elda Marie Ness, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Mayo Health System in Eau Claire, WI.
Elda was born on October 29, 1927 in Arcadia, WI daughter of Matt and Helen (Hjerleid) Johnson. She married Alger Ness on June 29, 1952; they were married for 61 years and lived on the Ness Family Farm in Mondovi until retirement in 1989.
Elda was a devoted and nurturing wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member of Central Lutheran Church and her Circle and Ladies Aid and Homemaker Groups.
She also enjoyed being a nurse's aid at the Buffalo Memorial Manor. Her family, children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren; Jane (the late Jim) Davis of Eden Prairie, MN, Connie (John) Blazek, Erik and Alison Blazek of Eau Claire, WI, Jennifer (Tom) Schroer, Andrew and Anthony Schroer of Eden Prairie, MN, Todd (Lori) Ness, Emily, Maddie and Ben Ness of Mondovi, WI, and foster son, Ken (Linda) Melvin, Dustin and Jessica of Holmen, WI.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home, at 465 W Main St, Mondovi, WI from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and one hour prior to the service at the church.
