Donald Preston Obituary
Donald O. Preston, 77, of Bentonville, Arkansas, formerly of Strum, WI passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Rogers, Arkansas with his family by his side. He was born on March 18, 1938 in Eau Claire, WI, the son of the late Neil Sr. and Rosella (Ottum) Preston.
Don graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1956. He married the love of his life, Ardis Shermo, on April 30, 1960. He served in both the Air Force and Navy.
In 1968 Don started and remained the owner of the Ad-Delite in Strum, WI. Don enjoyed reading, telling jokes, wood working and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ardis, of Bentonville, AR; Children: Renee Preston (Brad Vold) of Strum, WI, Chad Preston (Jodi) of Menomonie, WI, Valerie Lorenz (Terry) of Strum, WI, Jill Miles (fiancé, Daniel Molitor) of Eau Claire, WI, Cynthia Johnston (Jeff) of Williams Bay, WI, and Nick Preston (Susan) of Eleva, WI; Eight granddaughters and seven grandsons. He is also survived by three sisters.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, April 11th at the Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Eleva, WI. Interment will be private at West Beef River Cemetery, rural Strum with full Military Rites rendered by the Eleva-Strum Veterans Groups.
