Donald Ottum Obituary
Donald Edwin Ottum (77) of Mondovi, WI died Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. He was born October 5, 1936 in Alma, WI; son of Edwin and Grace (Adams) Ottum. He graduated from Gilmanton High School. Following school Don farmed and logged. On June 26, 1970 he married Olive M. Symitczek at Zion Lutheran Church in Mondovi. He worked for Ashley Furniture for twenty-seven years, retiring in 2005.
Donald loved to fish and watch TV with his best friend "Boss". His favorite sports teams are the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers; he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years; Olive Ottum of Mondovi, Daughter; Brenda Thompson (Brad Dobbertin) of Iola, WI, Step-Children; Rose Ottum ( Friend Bill) of Mondovi,WI, Ed Kirschner of Altoona, WI, Sue Smith of Mondovi, WI; Bill ( Ann) Kirschner of Independence, WI.; Three Grandchildren; Two Great Grandchildren; Six Step- Grandchildren; 9 Step- Great Grandchildren; 6 sisters, Darlene Davis of Gilmanton, WI; Mavis Anderson of Gilmanton, WI; Jensine (Elmer) Myers of Nelson, WI; Treva (Bob) Lowenhagen of Mondovi, WI; Linda Robinson of Osseo, WI; Vicky Fuller of Altoona, WI; 4 brothers, Royal (Gloria) Ottum of Modena, WI; Allis (Rose) Ottum of Independence, WI; Clifford (Sandy) Ottum of Orlando, FL; Ross Ottum of Arcadia, WI, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Allen Kirschner; 6 brothers, Art, Richard, Darrel, Jim, Kerry and Landon Ottum.
