Darlene Rognholt Obituary
Darlene Marie Rognholt, age 77 of Eau Claire, formerly Eleva, WI passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the Heritage Assisted Living in Eau Claire after a long battle of pancreatic cancer with her daughter by her side.
She was born on February 24, 1938 in Chimney Rock Township, the daughter of Joseph and Elvina (Knudtson) Helgeson. Darlene was married on June 4, 1966 to Gary Rognholt in Chimney Rock to this union 3 children were born.
Darlene was well known as the "Deli Lady" at Copps, Dukes and Gordy's. She was a playground attendant at the Cleghorn Elementary School. She loved playing games with her "friends" at the Heritage and spending time with her own family. She also loved going to the Fourniers Ball Room in Eau Claire.
Survivors include 3 children; Troy (Kelly) Rognholt of Eau Claire, Tricia (Chuck) Zwiefelhofer of Bloomer, WI, Traci (Adam) Quick of Strum,WI. 10 grand-children; Tanner, Rillie, Bryce, Evan, Kyler, Olivia, Emileah, Lennon, Terris and Daxton; 3 brothers; John (Gayle) Helgeson, David (Faye) Helgeson, Jeff Helgeson; 4 sisters, Rose (Monty) Loomis, Pearl (Joe) Berlin, Eldora (Mike) Ives, and Diane (Richard) Josifek; Sister-in-law, Eleanor Helgeson; brother-in-law, Roger Nyseth and many nieces and nephews.
Darlene is preceded in death by her husband Gary of 46 years; her parents; brother, Joe Jr. and sister, Joan Nyseth.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Chimney Rock Lutheran Church, rural Strum with Rev. Tom Bryan officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Eleva and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be at East Bennett Valley Cemetery, rural Eleva.
