Betty Lou Knudtson (Helwig)
Age 89, of Eleva, WI passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Heritage Assisted Living in Eau Claire. Betty was born on February 23, 1925 in Eau Claire, WI to the late Millard & Floy (Wright) Helwig.
She taught Elementary school for several years before her marriage.
On September 20, 1947 Betty married Chester Knudtson in the Town of Brunswick, Eau Claire County. They farmed in the Town of Albion where she enjoyed being a homemaker until they sold the farm in 2005 and moved to Eau Claire.
Betty liked to garden, and travel, she kept detailed journals of her travels, one in particular with her friends in 1947 when they drove her car Susie out west. She loved to get up early in the morning and go fishing while staying at the family cabin at Webb Lake, WI. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very active in her church life at Trinity of Norden Church.
Betty is survived by her five children, Joan (Cal) Fuhrman of The Villages, FL, Virginia ( Steven) Anderson of Verona, WI, Robert ( Judy) Knudtson of Stoughton, WI, Kathy ( Michael) Collins of Middleton, WI and Marge (Mark) Fictum of Eau Claire, WI; 10 grandchildren, Chris ( Kim) Fuhrman, Eric (Dana) Fuhrman, Missy (Corey) Cooper, Matt (Brooke) Anderson, Brad Knudtson, Eric Knudtson, Nick Lindgren, Stacy ( Bryan) Nikirk, Michelle North, Catherine Clingensmith; 10 great-grandchildren, Michael Fuhrman, Abner Fuhrman, Audrey Fuhrman, Patrick Fuhrman, Emma Anderson, Addison Anderson, Hayden Anderson, Lilianna North, Deon Clingensmith and Noah Clingensmith; brother, Charles Helwig of Eau Claire, WI, sister-in-law Jeanine Helwig of Eau Claire; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chester Knudtson in 2013.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 11:00AM at Trinity of Norden Church in Mondovi with Pastor Kermit Solem officiating. Burial will follow at the Norden Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 5:00PM -7:00PM at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Eleva, and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be given in Betty's name to Trinity of Norden Church.
