Bertha Niehoff Obituary
Bertha Lenore Niehoff, age 84, of Mondovi, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Grace Woodlands in Eau Claire. She was born on September 7, 1934 in River Falls to William and Zita (Wieber) Niehoff. She grew up on her family's farm in the River falls area and attended school there. Bertha spent most of her career working as a secretary, including at Camp Pendleton in California. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Mondovi. She also belonged to the Durand Cable Company bowling team. She had many hobbies including gardening, fishing, sewing, canvas weaving, knitting, and fostering cats. She made many items for friends and the church over the years. Bertha enjoyed many special times at Trego with her family, especially nieces and nephews. Some of her favorite trips were fishing at Lake of the Woods. Her family will always remember her kindness, big heart, and her winning smile.
Bertha is survived by her two sisters, Anna Mae (Joseph) Fox of North St. Paul, MN and Florence (Ed) Richmeier of Clear Lake; brother, Henry (Ione) Niehoff of Stone Lake; sister-in-law. Dorothy Niehoff of Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings, Sylvia (Joseph) Murphy, Marvin (Elaine) Niehoff, Al Niehoff, and Virginia (Jerry) Gove; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Mondovi with Father Paul Bosco officiating. Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home, Mondovi is assisting the family with arrangements.
