LaVerne Anibas Obituary
LaVerne "Vern" Anibas J., 94 of Eau Claire, WI formerly of Mondovi, passed away on Wednesday, August, 31, 2016 at Oak Wood Villa in Altoona.
Vern was born on August 22, 1922 in Mondovi, WI son of the late Frank and Rose (Bauer) Anibas.
He married Leona Fedie on July 14, 1943 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lima.
Vern delivered fuel for many years for the Mondovi Coop. He owned and operated Vern's Corner Grocery and the Hide a While Bar in Mondovi, and retired as a union Millwright.
Vern is survived by his five children; David (friend, Michelle) Anibas of Eau Claire, Jerry (friend, Debbie) Anibas of Elk Mound, Daniel (Nancy) Anibas of Mondovi, Randy (Nancy) Anibas of Mondovi, and Sue (Norm) Fowler of Eau Claire; 13 grandhcildren; Wendy (Paul) Martin, Mike (friend, Betty) Anibas, John (friend, Missy) Anibas, Jodi (friend, Brian) Ritch, Jill (Chet) Holum, Ryan (Lindsay) Anibas, Renee (Aaron) Bagniewski, Lisa (friend, Zach) Wampole, Teri Anibas, Nathan (Stacy) Anibas, Melissa (Collin) Miller, Shelly Anibas, (friend, Iver), Tina (Dick) Sahs ; 20 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren; brother Ed (Donna) Anibas, sister Vera Schreiner, sister Jeanette Johnson, sister-in-law Charlotte Anibas.
He is preceded in death by; his parents, wife, Leona, brother Frank, brother Gerald, sister Leona, and other friends and family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rock Falls, with Father Joseph officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Rock Falls.
Visitation will be held from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. with a scripture wake at 7:00p.m., on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi, and also one hour prior to Mass at the church on Wednesday from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m.
