Janice Evonne Knudson

Janice Evonne Knudson, age 82, of Strum, went home to be with her soulmate, David, on Sunday, May 6, 2018. She passed away at home, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 11, 1936 in Mondovi to Leslie and Avenelle (Bartholomew) Langert. She grew up and attended school in Mondovi. Janice was united in marriage to David John Knudson in 1951 at Our Savior's United Methodist Church in Mondovi. The couple made their home on a dairy and beef farm in Pleasant Valley and welcomed six children. David died on August 14, 2014. Janice was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. She loved to go shopping, tell stories, and work in her garden. Her family was the joy of her life, especially her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her five children, Jerry (Pat) Knudson of Independence, Patricia (Terry) Holliday of Whitehall, Dennis (Marie) Knudson of Strum, Margaret (David) McCormick of Bonaqua, TN, and Timothy (Kris) Knudson of Strum; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Dianne (Gary) Godden of Champaign, IL; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, David Knudson; son, John Knudson; parents; and two sisters, Vivian Burkholder and Jeanean Mertens.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home, Mondovi. Burial will follow at Riverside Lutheran Cemetery.
