Ivan Fullmer Obituary
Ivan Lee Fullmer (80) of Gilmanton, WI passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi, WI. He was born May 11, 1934 in Ottumwa, IA; son of Leland & Wilma (Moon) Fullmer. Ivan graduated from Ottumwa High School. Following graduation he served in the US Navy Air Corp, stationed at Fort Dix in New Jersey. He married Shirley McCord, they later divorced.
After his service in the Navy his family moved to Milwaukee. There he was a certified welder at Patrick Cudahy. In 1968, they moved to Lookout, where Ivan opened the Lookout Garage. He then started his own cattle trucking business. On September 9, 1978 he married Emmajean Steinke at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Ivan continued trucking for various trucking companies, retiring from Wilber Trucking in Arcadia. He enjoyed trucking and when he was home he spent his time cleaning and waxing his trucks or doing woodworking.
He was a lifetime member of the Gilmanton American Legion where he was a past Commander and Finance officer. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and past member of the church council.
He is survived by his wife, Emmajean Fullmer of Gilmanton; son, Alan (Rose) Fullmer of Pleasantville; daughter, Sharon Klaysmat of MO; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leland & Wilma (Moon) Fullmer.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, December 29, 2014 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in rural Mondovi with Pastor David Bangert officiating. Burial with Military rites by Gilmanton American Legion Post #264 will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 am until time of services at the church on Monday.
