Diane Norby Obituary
Diane Marie (Peterson) Norby, 55, of Strum, WI passed away October 14, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family, following a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. She was born December 11, 1958 in Rochester, MN the daughter of Pastor James and Julaine (Trygstad) Peterson.
Diane was a 1977 graduate of Kasson-Mantorville High School in Kasson, MN. She also attended Independent Lutheran Bible School. She was employed at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi, WI until her marriage to Calvin Norby on August 25, 1979 at Evanger Lutheran Church in rural Independence. From 1991 until 2013 she was employed at Marten Transport in Mondovi, WI.
Art was her passion; she also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved traveling and spending time in the mountains in the American west.
Diane often shared that she told the Lord- "If it brings more glory to Your Name to take me, than to heal me, then that's what I want". Her only wish was that Christ would be glorified through this.
Diane is survived by her husband Calvin of 35 years, their children Jeff (Heather ) Norby and Lisa (Nels) Bodway. Her grandchildren Sierra and Brianna Bodway and Zane, Olivia, Jack and Sadie Norby. Her parents Pastor James and Julaine Peterson of Mondovi, WI; sisters Jurine (Mike)Larson of Kasson MN; Jill (Dean) Hestekin of Independence, WI; and Linda (Eric) Hovey of Mondovi, WI, also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
