Clifford Rudy Obituary
Clifford Lynn Rudy (88) of Eleva, WI passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire, WI with his family at his side. He was born October 27, 1924 in Town of Dover, Buffalo County, WI; son of Benjamin and Lillian (Sigler) Rudy. He graduated from Eleva High School in 1942.
On June 23, 1945 he married Marian Semingson in Eau Claire. Clifford worked for Wood Motor Company in Eau Claire. Later he worked for L.G. Skeels Construction and farmed in the Town of Pleasant Valley. In later years he bagged groceries at Gordy's County Market in Eau Claire.
He was a member of Eleva Lutheran Church, was on the church board and was also a member of the Jensen School Board for many years. Clifford enjoyed square dancing, old time dancing, playing horseshoes and dart ball. He enjoyed working on his farm, spending time with family and in his later years, playing and collecting violins.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Marian Rudy of Eleva, WI; four children, Kathy (Paul) Whiteside of River Falls, WI, Kristine (Walt) Schreiber of Eau Claire, WI, Karri (Larry) Rudolph of Black River Falls, WI, Karlyn (Joy) Rudy of Eleva, WI; eleven grandchildren, Denise (Jeff) Bunkert, Karen (James) Olsen, Jennifer (Brian) Chenvert, Traci (Matt) Thurow, Scott Schreiber, Geoffrey Schreiber, Brooke (Erik) Christianson, Brian(Dora) Loiselle, Heather Rudy, Melanie Rudy (fiancé, Dan Erickson), Valerie Rudy; eleven great-grandchildren, Ella Chenvert, Andrew Olsen, Katherine Olsen, Annabelle Olsen, Zachary Thurow, Olivia Thurow, Noah Thurow, Mariah Loiselle, Brennan Loiselle, Noah Loiselle; Harper Erickson; brother, Robert Rudy of Mondovi, WI; sisters, Ruth (Dale) Myers of Fall Creek, WI, Bernice (Richard) Myren of Eleva, and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Lillian (Sigler) Rudy; sister-in-law, Betty Rudy.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Monday, October 14, 2013 at Eleva Lutheran Church with Rev. Kermit Solem officiating. Burial will be in the Eleva Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Eleva, WI and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
