Charles Koesterman Obituary
Charles Henry Koesterman (82) of Chippewa Falls, WI, formerly of Mondovi, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. He was born June 28, 1934 in Sundance, Wyoming; son of Edgar and Laura (Pritzkau) Koesterman.
He attended school in Keystone, SD. In 1953 his family moved to Wisconsin. Chuck farmed in Gilmanton with his dad. He also owned his own trucking business, hauling can milk and cattle. In 1956 he married Lois Davis in Gilmanton and together they had four children. They lived in Kenosha where Chuck worked for American Motors for years. They later divorced. He later moved back to Mondovi where he worked for Martin Transport from 1965- 1979. On October 13, 1989 Chuck married Sharon Schultz at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi. He owned and operated Chuck's Small Engine Repair, drove school bus, and worked various other jobs in the area. Chuck and Sharon moved to Chippewa Falls in 2000, where Chuck worked for Gordy's Hardware until his retirement. He enjoyed wood working, traveling, camping, decorating for the holidays, and especially loved attending horse pulls.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Chippewa Falls; his children, Dan (Kim) Koesterman of Gilmanton, Tammy Groven (Randy Sonsalla) of Arcadia, Cindy (Rick) Brown of Altoona, Vicky (Dale Junior) Peterson of Alma; step-son, Darrin Schultz of Holmen; step-daughter, Darcie (Steve) Gibboney of Osseo; grandchildren, Matthew, Melissa, Malerie, Crystal, Derek, Abbie, Nathan, Nicole, Patrick, Tanner, Jayden, Emily, Taya, Ben; 11 Great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Davis; brothers-in-law, Donald Peterson, Dave (Lonnie) Everson, Phil (Bonnie) Everson; sister-in-law, Eldora Odegard; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Everett Peterson; son-in-law, Tom Groven; brothers-in-law, William Davis SR., Ron Odegard; sisters-in-law, Shirley Urness and Karen Mercer.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Mondovi. Friends may call from 10:00 am until time of services at the funeral home on Wednesday. A private burial will be held at a later date.
