Bonnie Gruber Obituary
Bonnie M. Gruber, 71 of Mondovi, WI passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016, at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. Bonnie was born on April 3, 1944 in Eau Claire, WI to the late Marvin and Harriet (Smith) Jacobson.
She attended grade school at Randall Elementary and graduated from 1962 from Memorial High School in Eau Claire, WI.
On September 14, 1963 she married Bernard Gruber at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mondovi, WI.
She worked at the Mondovi Super Value for several years and the American Lutheran Home for many years where she enjoyed being the Activities Director.
Bonnie loved spending time with her grandchildren and shopping with her daughter and sisters. She loved to cook, bake, play cards with friends, and traveling with her friends on short but memorable trips. She also liked bowling on the women's league for many years, and one of her most favorite things to do was to travel to Waumandee for chicken every month to celebrate birthdays.
Survivors include sons; Derrick Gruber of Mondovi, Chad (Kim) Gruber of Mondovi, one daughter; Angela (Charles) Schuster of Oshkosh, WI. Grandchildren; Ashley Brekke, Eric Pittman, Dalton Dregney, Deanna Dregney, Clay Gruber, Cloe Gruber, Carrie Schmitz, Father Daniel Schuster, Kathryn Douglas and Anna Schuster, 9 Great-grandchildren. Brother-in-laws; Eugene (Carol) Gruber, Larry Buxton and Sister-in-law; Betty Bauer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard Gruber, daughter-in-law Shari Gruber, Sisters; Sigrid Buxton and Alva (Roger) Hayes. Brother-in-laws; Robert (Dorothy) Gruber and Darold Bauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Mondovi on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 11:00AM with Father Daniel Schuster officiating. Visitation will be held prior to services at the Church from 8:30am to 11:00am. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Mondovi.
