Andrew Yealey Obituary
Andrew F. Yealey, 86 of Mondovi passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Dove Health Care West in Eau Claire, WI. He was born February 2, 1930 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Mahr) Yealey.
At age five his family moved to Fall Creek, WI where he attended school. At age 17 he enlisted in the Marines.
Upon his return from the Military he began his career as an Iron Worker. He was a proud member of the Iron Workers Local 512 for 34 years, in addition to owning and operating his own farm in Naples Township from 1966-2014.
Andrew married Lois Hageness on November 14, 1953 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mondovi. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church of Mondovi where he taught Sunday school and was on the church council, he also served as church council President. He was very involved in the planning of the new church.
Andy loved spending time with family and holiday gatherings, he loved to cook, hunt, fish and raise cattle. He was also a member and proud supporter of the Mondovi Conservation Club.
He is survived by four children; Joan Yealey (Mark Bauer) of Mondovi, WI, Dean (Sue) Yealey of Hudson, WI, Lynne (Russell) Bauer of Chippewa Falls, WI, and Lance (Brenda) Yealey of Mondovi, WI; five grandchildren; Joy Yealey, Jennifer (Gary) Gollnow, Cherylin (Lance Parker) Yealey, Brittany Yealey, and Andrew Bauer; six great-grandchildren; Grayce, Sophia, Brycen, Paisley, Alexander and Noah. Brother; James (Selma) Bonewald; brother-in-law; Theodore (Yvonne) Hageness Jr., many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, parents, infant twins son and daughter, John and Jean Yealey, step-father, Carl Bonewald, 2 sisters; Patricia (Bill) Hughes, Kathryn (James) Mackey, infant brother, George Yealey.
A visitation will be held at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Mondovi on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church from 10:00AM to 11:00AM.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi at 11:00AM, with Pastor Rolf Morck officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Mondovi. Military Honors by the Mondovi American Legion Post 154.
