Albin Sterry Obituary
Albin G. ‘Jin" Sterry, 92 of Osseo, WI passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at MCHS Oakwood Hospital in Osseo, WI.
He was born on August 9, 1924 in the Town of Albion, Trempealeau County, WI to the late Edward and Annette (Everson) Sterry.
Albin grew up in the town of Albion and attended Plainvew Elementary School. He worked for a wheat farmer in North Dakota before starting his own farm.
On June 5,1948, he married Marjorie Kolve at Norden Church. Albin and Marjorie farmed in the Eleva Strum area all their married life. Marjorie passed away on August 21, 2010.
Albin enjoyed fishing, horse pulls, baseball and softball; most any sport his grandkids were playing in. He was a longtime member of the Eleva Lutheran Church and loved his grandkids and family gatherings.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald (Mary) Sterry and Robert (Celeste) Sterry both of Osseo; four grandchildren, Lea (Lenny Mesar) Sterry of Neillsville, Mandolyn (Chad) Nelson of Hixton, Jamie (Bryan) Chilewski of Wisconsin Rapids, and Ryan Sterry of Hammond; five great-grandchildren, Chase and Rydge Tibbett of Neillsville, Tristan and Pieper Nelson of Hixton and Jaxson Gutierrez of Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters, Florence Olson of Stillwater, MN and Gladys "Toby" Tyacke of Muskego and many other relatives and friends.
Albin was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; his parents; three brothers, Howard and Jessie Lardahl and Palmer Sterry; four sisters, Edna Solfest, Irma Gieger, Alice Loomis and Doris Sterry.
Funeral Services will be held at the Eleva Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 4:00PM with the Rev. Robert Castro officiating.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Burial will follow at the Eleva Lutheran Cemetery.
